Lilith Poster — 18" x 24" $25.00
The woman created equally alongside Adam. She was before Eve. She is the alter ego of Eve. All woman possess an Eve and a Lilith. Where Eve is submissive, Lilith is demanding; when Eve is dependent, Lilith is independent; when Eve seeks protection, Lilith has her own courage; Lilith was cast out of the garden by Adam, and described as a monster. She is known also as Adamah in the Bible, a word that means earth or soil. The Flame of the revolving sword is her symbol, as well as the screeching owl. She is a moon goddess. Hidden and dark, she can be full of rage, because of her refusal to submit to Adam. She sees herself as an equal. She is cast out, led out of the garden by three angels for refusing to submit to Adam. She is represented in the sign of Virgo as the Amazon women. She is sinful, her gifts come in strange ways, and enable a woman to be instinctual and intuitive. She hangs out with centaurs, and has her freedom. She is strong and vibrant. She is the Moon card in the Tarot, number 18, in symphony with the Hermit, number 9. She represents the search when you are lost, the confusion when you are in need of clarity, and the temptation when you are full of desire. She is a seductress and tempts men when they sleep alone at night. There is much to embrace in Lilith and every woman should become familiar with this story. It is ultimately her story.
I highly recommend - The Book of Lilith by Barbara Black Koltuv-
I see her as an archetype for all women- She is a symbol of strength for women- She is the survivor of world patriarchy.
